West Soda Rock

Set atop a scenic hill near the Russian River in Healdsburg, CA, this 2-acre property offers sweeping views of the vineyards and Mt. St. Helena. The design prioritizes agricultural use, thoughtfully integrating the vineyard with the residence while framing the surrounding natural beauty. Designed as a retreat for a retired couple and their family, the residence includes a pool, expansive flexible hosting space, outdoor kitchen, firepit, vegetable garden, and fruit orchard. The steep terrain is shaped with terraces that transition the vineyards seamlessly into the residence. Stone paving runs along an axis from the entry to the pool terrace, drawing the visitor’s eye toward the distant Mt. St. Helena. The planting palette incorporates low-water Mediterranean and California native plants, providing seasonal color and a variety of textures throughout the space.
