The College Preparatory School

The Hillside Project at the College Preparatory School fosters a sustainable, inclusive campus, through teaching by example. The new academic wing features state-of-the-art classrooms, administrative offices, student services, and various outdoor learning spaces. The central assembly court, a key gathering space, anchors campus circulation with a layered, crenulated edge. Concrete plinths shift from steps to benches, complemented by sustainably sourced wood. Second-floor landings provide views to the assembly court and offer breakout spaces for students. Permeable pavers and rain gardens manage stormwater, while low water use plantings surround the assembly court. The design combines aesthetics with ecological stewardship, creating a dynamic hub that will evolve with future generations.
